The Spanish group Cosentino will bet again this year on Espacio Cocina SICI in an “exciting” edition, as explained by its Vice President of Communication and Corporate Reputation, Santiago Alfonso, who highlights a very special year like this with the celebration of Valencia as World Design Capital 2022, initiative of which Cosentino is the promoter and official collaborator.
Valencia, 21 julio 2022.- It is 2022 A very special edition of Espacio Cocina SICI returns after the pandemic period and in synergies with Feria Hábitat Valencia and Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar. How does your firm face the participation in this call? What are your expectations?
The approach to a new appointment with Espacio Cocina SICI is very exciting. From our own experience this year being present at trade fairs around the world, like KBIS, coat, IDS, Design Week in Milan, etc, etc….we have verified that there is a great desire to meet again in person. I am convinced that SICI will meet expectations, and it will be a sure success at the assistance level, exhibitors, news and generation of shared knowledge.
For Cosentino it will be the main fair this year in Spain, and we will gather our newest news and innovations at our stand, as well as we are going to participate in other initiatives that will be significant and outstanding such as the Home Design Hub project, or the first Intersectoral Colloquium on Kitchens organized by Focuspiedra.
By last, this edition has a special added component since it coincides with the World Design Capital held this year by Valencia, and of which we are official promoters and collaborators. Thus, We will also participate in all the dynamics of activities and events that the Capital will organize on those days, and we also plan to hold our own event in the Ágora of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento to attend to our clients and collaborators.
Why do you think it is important to participate in an event such as Espacio Cocina SICI 2022?
From our point of view, it is an unavoidable appointment. And proof of this is that we have been present both in the SICI format, as in Cevisama since its first editions. Es, definitely, the most important meeting point and exhibition of novelties on the national calendar of the world of habitat and cuisine. And this year also has the bonus of recovering that presence, where are going to concentrate news and advances in the sector that have occurred in the last two or three years. So, it will be a more powerful and interesting SICI even than other years.
Para Cosentino, following this line, It will be, for example, the ideal setting to expose and explain to our clients, and to the whole sector in general, disruptive innovations such as HybriQ+® technology. a technology, released a couple of years ago, which represents a total transformation of the nature of our Silestone® product, and that marks the course towards truly sustainable and safe materials.
What do you think is the role of the kitchen (furniture and kitchen equipment) in today's habitat market? what are your strengths?

Now, We continue to lead the trends in coverings and countertops with the aforementioned new Silestone® with HybriQ+® technology., more sustainable and with real energy efficiency and circular economy criteria. An area more than ever that has become the center of the home and of our daily lives, increasingly consolidated and that has also concentrated a good part of the increase and the commitment to domestic reforms in recent months.
But not only Silestone®, also our other great reference brand, Dekton®, has conquered with unbeatable performance both private spaces, such as public projects and building exteriors. That accredited experience in the world of cooking, coupled with our increasingly growing link with the reform sectors, new construction and architecture and decoration projects, is what we will show this new edition of SICI.
What are the most immediate challenges for a leading firm like Cosentino?
The challenge is to follow our maxim of leading by example. as a company, we are making a very important investment commitment to apply a sustainable model both at the energy level, such as productive efficiency and reuse of resources and use of recycled raw material. This commitment reverts to the products that we make available to the market worldwide, like Dekton®, carbon neutral product for its entire life cycle, or the aforementioned HybriQ® technology. We also want to lead the advancement in new technological solutions within the sector. There is room for improvement when it comes to digitizing processes and relations between the value chain of the kitchen store sector, marble masons and design and architecture professionals.
And of course, continue innovating both in products and in our logistics and distribution network through our Centers and City model, where only in Spain we have recently opened stores in Mallorca, Tenerife, or in the near future a new showroom in Malaga.
